On Thursday, November 4, the Howard County Association of Student Councils partnered with the Board of Education to host a very successful student leader luncheon.
Over 60 students from 12 high schools spent the morning learning from Maryland Leadership Workshops how to best advocate for causes they were passionate about, identify key adults in their schools who can help, and got a chance to come up with action plans that they can implement in their schools using what they learned.
In the afternoon, student leaders met with Board of Education members and Central Office staff to help provide a student perspective on current issues within the school system.
Overall, the day was very successful, and HCASC would like to thank all of the dedicated students and supportive staff members that made it possible!
Pictures of this successful event can be found here.
